Spiritual direction is a space to listen to the Spirit’s leading through conversation rooted in prayer.
Often this space is referred to as "three-way-listening" as we listen to each other and the Spirit. Those seeking direction tend to meet monthly with their spiritual director or companion. Spiritual direction is not counseling or therapy, but instead is a place to grow deeper in relationship with the Divine with a companion on your spiritual journey.
Michelle offers both short-term spiritual direction around particular life events or discernment questions and also long-term, monthly sessions for those desiring to explore the movement of the Spirit in their lives at the present moment in a place of openness and safety.
Michelle has been practicing spiritual direction since 2012. She holds certification in Spiritual Formation from Drew Theological School (2012) and the Center for Spiritual Formation (2013). But more importantly, she is under spiritual direction herself. By being accompanied by wise women who seek the Spirit, Michelle has learned what it means to seek to grow in the presence of the Divine.
Michelle is comfortable working with people from different faith traditions or those who do not identify with any specific tradition at this time. Her primary passion in individual spiritual direction includes faith leaders and young adults.
Direction is offered in-person, by phone, and by Zoom.
If you have felt ill in the last 72 hours, please reschedule or move to a phone or Zoom format.
The first session is a free consultation to see if we are a good fit together. If Michelle is not the right spiritual director for you, we will refer to another spiritual director in your area, if possible.
Michelle is committed to making individual spiritual direction available to all who are seeking. To that end, fees are on a sliding scale. For a 50-minute spiritual direction session, suggested rates are $45 - 75, on a sliding scale as you can afford. If there is a financial burden, please contact Michelle. The sliding scale is additionally adjusted for seminary students.
