Listen Gracefully

I love to learn. Give me a book, a class, a conversation - any avenue to learn brings me deep joy. So it wasn't surprising to me that I ended up in a small group book study with some colleagues. What was surprising is the conversation that took place.

We ended up talking about two words (and just two words) that would describe the call of our life. I came up with all sorts of combinations, but none of them sat well with my spirit. Until I articulated "listen gracefully."

​The more I sat with this combination of words, the more it seemed true in every aspect of my life. Not just vocationally, but when I serve, volunteer, and just spend time with people. These words don't just describe who I am, but who I am becoming. I want to be someone who listens more gracefully.
