What Brings You Joy?

It seems like such a simple question - what brings you joy? -  yet, for many of us, we get so caught up in our heads thinking of an answer that we ignore what our heart is saying. 
I find joy in simple things. This past week I found joy: 

• Attending the 85th birthday of a woman who never had a party before.
• Getting lost in a beautiful nursing home twice, trying to find my way to a woman whose smile was completely worth it.
• Watching my nieces dance.

That was just a glimpse of the joy that I experienced in a 24-hour period. But when we wait for joy to come only in the big moments, we miss what is right in front of us - calling us to be fully alive and fully ourselves.
